Lake Mary Summer Morning

Hiking in Utah is one thing that many along the Wasatch front love to do. I'm one of them. When the snow and cold temps of Winter begin to subside and the warm mornings of Summer take over the days, you can't beat getting out into the Wasatch Mountains. Big Cottonwood Canyon and Lake Mary in Utah is one of those areas that's close enough to make a short trip of. The area is well-known to the locals and tourists alike. High alpine lakes dot the mountains and it's not uncommon to run into elk, deer, and moose while you're out on the trails. I even ran into a moose and two elk on this particular morning. If you can make it out early you event beat the crowds. I had that opportunity on this morning with not another soul in sight. Blue skies. Calm breeze over the water. Silence as the golden sunlight creeps over the surrounding peaks. Mornings like this remind you why we love Utah so much.
